Finding the perfect hotel for your short break trip requires a strategic decision. Firstly you need one that fits your budget and secondly, it needs to be centrally located to maximize the time you have in a destination.
Chavanel Hotel ticked all those boxes and more during our recent stay in the capital of France… We left Rotterdam just for a few days to work on a project for one fashion brand (stay tuned, I’ll post pictures soon). We had a late check-in and spent the rest of the day in the hotel room. Both my friend and I were not in the mood to go out on a rainy evening, so we put on our pajamas and watched the film.
Each time I visit Paris, I walk around my favorite places. The 8th arrondissement, which is also known as the Madeleine neighborhood, is undoubtedly one of my favorites. You will never get bored staying there as there are plenty of chic boutiques, tourist attractions, and restaurants in the area. From the Place Vendôme to the parochial Eglise de la Madeleine passing by the big political places like Elysée and the US Embassy, let yourself be guided through the one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. I was super excited to know that Hotel Chavanel is situated in that lovely part of Paris.
Probably my favorite feature of this concept hotel is its elegant and yet chic decor. When we entered the hotel, we were impressed by birches in the lobby. These interior details made me miss my homeland as a white-trunk birch is considered to be one of the emblems of middle region forests of Russia.
We stayed in a Deluxe room which is reasonably spacious for Paris. It has two huge windows overlooking Rue Vignon that made it light. It was made up of a queen size bed with a cozy sofa next to it.
The room was spotlessly clean and the en-suite bathroom was excellent in terms of cleanliness and style. The rainfall Italian-style shower was thoroughly enjoyable and the toiletries provided were of excellent quality. A special mention should also go to the excellent coffee machine and coffee/tea that came free with the room – best in-room coffee I have ever tasted. If you wanted a cooked breakfast and are a vegetarian then you are limited to boiled eggs but otherwise, there was a fresh croissant, good quality bread, cheeses, cold meats and various other items on the menu.
I cannot say enough great things about the staff and they leave no stone unturned in making sure everything is perfect for you. Every detail is accounted for from the check-in with water for weary travelers to the check-out in making sure you are satisfied with service. I sincerely hope that the friendliness of the staff and their warm assistance will remain when we come next time.
Thanks to Sophie Charlet and her wonderful team! I would definitely stay again when in Paris!
