I always love exploring Austria, as it’s filled with so many jaw-droppingly beautiful destinations. In particular, the Zell am See region is known to be a historic and cultural location – and as soon as I heard this I knew I wanted to visit!
Grand Hotel Zell am See is renowned in the area, so this is where we planned to stay at.
Exceptionally unique location
Grant Hotel Zell am See boasts a truly unique location. It’s situated on a private peninsula directly on the shoreline of Lake Zell. In fact, with a totally unobstructed view for hundreds of miles, I was totally mesmerized!
It’s also located near all the essentials – cute Austrian stores, fascinating historical sites and endless Instragrammable locations. These all kept me busy from dawn to dusk!
When we weren’t out and about or exploring the hotel’s facilities, we relaxed in our double room known as “Wellness Deluxe”, and it certainly lived up to its name. The room felt luxurious and romantic, and even had its own sauna.
I’ve honestly never seen so many different kinds of saunas in the one hotel! But here within the Grand Spa, we found a Finnish sauna, herbal sauna, tepidarium, brine steam room, Turkish steam bath, an infrared cabin, spacious relaxation rooms, and a terrace with wonderful lake views.
They also have a lovely spa boutique store where we could purchase exclusive products from top-quality brands Cellcosmet & Cellmen, Ligne St Barth and Ägypto. I’ve tried a range of their products and they’ve consistently worked wonders for my skin!
Even the fitness room was impressive. Fitted with the most modern amenities and facilities, the design of the space helps you become motivated to train your body and do a decent workout there.
We were fascinated to learn about the history of the hotel. We discovered:
-Its earliest origins trace all the way back to 1876!
-Particularly in the early 1900s, the hotel was an imperial and royal meeting point for VIP guests including princes, ministers and politicians.
-Around the time of the second world war, the hotel was briefly used as an American university.
Modern and tranquil, charming and romantic, Grand Hotel Zell am See is a must-visit destination for an unforgettable experience!
