Hotel Balmoral

My French romance

It was in central Paris that I discovered my #1 place to stay. For me, it was love at first sight.

Paris is one of those cities that is easy to fall in love with. The culture, the food, the romance in the air – all things that bring passion and vibrance to every street and alleyway. It was in central Paris that I discovered my #1 place to stay. For me, it was love at first sight.

Elegance, refinement and luxury

Built in 1880, Hotel Balmoral is a stunning residence rich with culture and history, fitted with all the modern comforts you could ever wish for.

I stayed there for 2 days, but I wish I could’ve stayed much longer! It was also my birthday during my stay, and they helped make it a truly special and memorable experience. Located only 100m away from Arc de Triomphe, its location was ideal for strolling through the surroundings streets, taking photos of authentic patisseries that dotted the alleys and the picturesque landmarks that surrounded me. It’s also just as close to Champs-Élysées, frequently described as “the world’s most beautiful avenue”. I have to agree!

Spoilt for choice

I was lucky to stay in the suite – and it was undeniably perfect! It was very spacious, featuring antique-style furniture complemented by the contemporary decor pieces.

I was quick to indulge in the pillow menu, and the bed was so comfortable I felt like I was resting on a cloud. The highlight of each morning was waking up to a scrumptious breakfast buffet, complete with a spread of freshly baked food and hot items were available too! Upon request, they could also deliver a delectable food platter right to your room.

Throughout the day, I was impressed to discover that there’s complimentary fruit, tea and coffee in the comfortable lounge area, making it an ideal spot for afternoon tea.

Feeling right at home

One of the things I admired about Hotel Balmoral was the staff! They’re all very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. You could clearly tell that they loved what they do, which makes a world of difference to the guests they assist.

If you’re ever staying there, keep a look out for Anthony in the restaurant – he was my favourite!

Bonus: Top 5 romantic things to do in the city of love

1.Step back in time through museums

Paris is filled with museums rich with history and culture. Explore the galleries with your loved one and learn more about this beautiful city.

2.Go for a picnic in a historic garden

Escape the hustle and bustle of the popular tourist destinations, and wind down on a rug in a perfectly manicured garden. Enjoy sips of champagne and a packed picnic basket filled with tasty pastries, and absorb the fresh air and natural surroundings.

3.Climb the Montparnasse Tower

The Montparnasse Tower is the perfect alternative to the Eiffel Tower, which is often overcrowded with tourists and visitors. It’s Paris’ only skyscraper, and provides a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower, so take happy snaps here instead with the world-famous landmark as your backdrop. If you head to the 56th floor, you can visit the bar and enjoy a drink while soaking in the views of the surrounding city.

4.Sunset cruise along the River Seine

It’s one of the most relaxing, chilled ways of going sightseeing through Paris. As the sun sets along the horizon, watch as the city transforms into a skyline of glowing lights.

5. Spend a couple of nights residing in a romantic hotel

I definitely recommend Hotel Balmoral, as I couldn’t fault anything about my stay there. When I return to Paris one day, it’s definitely at the top of my accommodation preferences!
