As part of my adventures through Paris, it was recommended that I spend a couple of nights in the historic Latin Quarter! I quickly heard that Hotel Monge is one of the most popular places in the area, so it claimed the top spot in my itinerary.

I quickly heard that Hotel Monge is one of the most popular places in the area, so it claimed the top spot in my itinerary. Hotel Monge is a boutique hotel that recently reopened after a complete renovation in 2016, and wow does it look impressive! Since I was residing there in December, the entire place was elaborately decorated with the joyful spirit of Christmas.
It also has a distinctly feminine style, with floral arrangements adorning the lobby and rooms, and prestigious designs surrounding you from your first step through their front doors. I enjoyed climbing the charming spiral staircase to the upper floors, admiring the fresh decor along the way. I can certainly imagine Hotel Monge is a popular choice of accommodation for honeymoon couples, because there’s definitely an air of romance about the place!
My room was cozy, clean and comfortable – with the tropical themed wallpaper giving the spacious retreats a bright and vibrant feel.
I adored the butterfly designs above the bed – so intricately designed and precisely placed. Starting each day with a smile was easy with such happy designs. Along the headboard was also a collection of different books, paying homage to the literary and scholarly traditions of the area.
The view from my room was amazing! I could see right down the street all the way to the horizon, dotted with emblematic monuments and attractions.
Hotel Monge provides top-of-the-range service, with the lovely staff members attending to my every need. You can tell they go the extra mile to make your stay one to remember. In particular, the steam sauna room and spa facilities were truly heavenly! The shower walls looked like the stars were embedded in them, and the entire area was private and secluded. What better way to relax the mind and muscles – I frequented the hammam regularly to wind down after busy days exploring and adventuring through the Latin Quarter and surrounding areas of Paris.

One of the things I love about Hotel Monge is its proximity to my two favourite parks: Le Jardin du Luxembourg and Jardin des Plantes – they’re both gorgeous botanical retreats away from the bustling streets of Paris.
Step back in time to the Gallo-Roman period and savour this spectacular site! Rich with history, discover what this place was originally used for…it’s fascinating.
Make a reservation at either Théâtre de l’Odéon or Cabaret du Paradis Latin and enjoy a stunning performance. Entertainment guaranteed!
A must-do for anyone who loves unique dining experiences! Try one of péniches (boat restaurants) along the banks of the Seine River around Pont Saint-Michel, to soak up beautiful views while tasting your way through delectable dishes.
From exquisite medieval tapestries to ancient baths, this museum is packed with incredible historic artefacts with even more interesting stories behind them. Planning a visit to Paris?
