As I continued my adventures through Switzerland, I was captivated by a unique, super stylish hotel called Matterhorn Focus. I just knew I needed to explore what it had to offer!
Matterhorn Focus is nestled in a very quiet and serene corner of Zermatt, so there are barely any sounds to be heard outside. From the moment the hotel appeared in view, to our first steps inside, my first impressions were undoubtedly just “wow”! Everything had been designed to perfection, boasting style and uniqueness.
Receiving a warm welcome, we sipped on a glass of tasty Prosecco at the stylish bar while waiting for our room. We then had the privilege of meeting Patricia, the manager of the hotel, who was very kind and likable. She guided us around hotel and told us stories about its history – fascinating!
We stayed in the incredible Dom roof suite, which is a wide and spacious 4th floor penthouse with a modern, open-plan layout. There were no doors between the bedroom, bathroom (with a free-standing bathtub!) and comfortable living area, which made the whole space feel even bigger.
I spent a fair amount of time gazing with wonder upon the views of the Matterhorn from the large balcony, which was a perfect place to observe the sunset/sunrise. The spa facilities were outstanding, with everything you could possibly want! There’s an indoor pool, outdoor jacuzzi, saline bath, caladium, Finnish sauna and a quiet area with heated lounges. It was the perfect place to relax, which is exactly what I did for half a day when it ended up raining outside.
We found the team Matterhorn Focus to be extremely helpful, open-minded and attentive to our every need. It makes such a difference when hotel staff really care about you!
You can really tell that the hotel deeply cares about each detail in the interior and service to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. For example, in most other hotels I have to specifically ask for an iron and ironing board but not here! Also the Babyliss hair dryer was excellent quality, and the collection of high quality toiletries had a divine scent. My favorite was the shower gel with essential oils of mint and eucalyptus.
I’m currently planning a trip to Switzerland in the winter. As an avid fan of skiing, I love spending the winter season in resorts and hotels situated in areas with a lot of snow. So I’m sure I’ll be back at this wonderful hotel – if you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend staying there!
